Additional ferry capacity for Bestival 2013

27th August 2013 Print

With just two weeks to go until Bestival returns to the Isle of Wight for its spectacular 10th anniversary festival (5 – 8 September), Red Funnel has announced the introduction of additional ferry sailings on its routes from Southampton to the Isle of Wight, the gateway to Bestival.

To minimise queuing times, Red Funnel is deploying an additional passenger vessel on its Southampton to East Cowes route and operating a 20 minute Red Jet service between Southampton and West Cowes. With over 60 sailings available for foot passengers travelling on the peak travel days, on Thursday 5, Friday 6 and Monday 9 September, the increased capacity will make it easier than ever to get to and from Bestival.

This year’s 10th anniversary event promises to be the biggest and best yet, playing host to headline acts including Elton John and His Band, Fatboy Slim and Snoop Dogg, as well as the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Wu-Tang Clan, Rudimental, Tom Odell and The Knife - the festival season isn’t over yet, all aboard HMS Bestival!

What’s more, for a limited time festivalgoers can get 15% OFF* car ferry travel when buying official Bestival tickets with Red Funnel, leaving a little more cash to spend on those festival essentials. Adult camping and foot passenger ferry packages start from just £216, which includes camping from 12pm on Thursday 5 September, to 2pm on Monday 9 September, Bestival weekend tickets, ticket booking fee and return foot passenger crossings from Southampton to East Cowes on the Isle of Wight with Red Funnel. Weekend ferry only fares for foot passengers start from £16.80 for adults.
