Lake District Hotel to gift kids signed 'Befana Drama' book this half-term

30th August 2013 Print

Children staying at the four star Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel over the October half-term holidays (October 25 to November 3) will receive a very special treat exclusive to this Bowness-based hotel in the Lake District.

On their pillow, they will find a signed copy of ‘The Befana Drama’ by Gianna Hartwright, the book described as ‘The most magical children’s book for Christmas 2013’. This book is a global adventure by broomstick and full of witch-dust of the most wondrous kind, combining the Christmas traditions of Italy and England and featuring many larger-than-life characters within the world of VIPBs (Very Important Present Bringers).

Lindeth Howe is the first hotel in the country to have this global adventure by broomstick, which is set to become a big hit both sides of the Atlantic in the run-up to Christmas, taking in, as it does, Italy, Dubai, The Black Forest, Siberia/Russia, the USA, Iceland and Lapland, not to mention final scenes around Big Ben and the White House. This supports Lindeth Howe’s position as a ‘literary hotel’, as it was once owned by Beatrix Potter, as a private residence for her mother. Beatrix wrote and illustrated ‘The Tale of Pigling Bland’ and ‘The Tale of Timmy Tiptoes’ from the property and Pigling Bland is celebrating his 100th birthday this year!

Children staying at Lindeth Howe have their own special high tea and can also enjoy swimming in the indoor pool. There are six-acre gardens to explore and cruises on Windermere are just a short walk or drive away.

The hotel has a 2AA Rosette dining room and provides fabulous and hearty Cumbrian breakfasts for all the family. It also has a child-sitting service available, at which some of ‘The Befana Drama’ could be read!

With therapeutic treatments available, a sauna and delightful and comfy lounges in which to snuggle into a settee or chair by a roaring fire and read any book, the Lindeth Howe is well worth investigating.

A variety of rooms are available, with lake or garden views and different levels of comfort, according to what the individual guest wants. Head to lindeth-howe.co.uk to discover more. Families wishing their child to have a personalised signed book can simply ask!

More details about The Befana Drama and its magic, mayhem and mirth can be found at thebefanadrama.com The book is released on September 12 and currently available for pre-order at Amazon priced £8.99.
