Coming soon - The Chester Hotel redefines luxury hospitality in Aberdeen
The luxurious Chester Hotel is set to make an unforgettable entrance on Aberdeen’s Queens Road when it opens its doors in January 2014.
Aimed at the five star, luxury hotel market, The Chester Hotel is the latest venture of hoteliers Graham and Gillian Wood, who also own Edinburgh’s award-winning The Chester Residence.
Once open, it will feature 63 Classic, Grand and Loft rooms and two suites, combining a feel of contemporary luxury with the original features of its 19th century listed building.
Graham Wood says: “The Chester Residence has become Edinburgh’s leading small five star hotel, recently winning a number of significant industry awards, and we aim to create something equally special in Aberdeen.
“Whilst The Chester Hotel will be much larger, we’ve chosen a similar look and feel to Edinburgh’s Chester Residence, which we believe will appeal to our business travellers as well as guests on an indulgent weekend break.”
Guests can indulge in delicious dishes prepared with some of Scotland’s best ingredients in the hotel’s Fine Dining Restaurant or enjoy a more relaxing meal in its laid-back lounge bar. Both kitchens are headed up by award-winning Executive Chef Kevin Dalgleish.
The Chester Hotel is also set to make an impression on couples looking for their perfect wedding venue. Graham Wood continues: “Put simply, our dedicated wedding planner is here to make the couple’s dreams come true.
“Whilst we will offer wedding packages to make planning easier for brides to be, there will be no such thing as a standard wedding at The Chester Hotel as we’re keen to accommodate individual plans.”
The hotel’s brand-new function suite can accommodate weddings and large corporate dinners of up to 180 guests or conferences for up to 300.
The £5m construction and refurbishment project to transform the hotel started in spring 2013 and will finish in time for the much anticipated opening in January 2014.
“After purchasing the property in spring 2012 we assessed the business and, as a result of demand, decided to develop larger function spaces”, says Graham Wood.
“At the same time, we took the opportunity to refurbish and upgrade our existing bedrooms, giving them a more luxurious feel, whilst adding additional rooms and two suites to satisfy customer demand.”
