Easier internet “everything”

9th October 2013 Print

Are you someone who could be described as “tech-savvy”; keeping up with all the latest developments in technology and the Internet, whilst simultaneously finding the best broadband bundle deals and always staying well on top of your web security and virus issues?

If you’ve managed to respond with a resounding “yes” to all this then “hats off” to you – and please read no further.

But if, on the other hand, you’re in the vast majority of people who kind of know they should be doing all this stuff but don’t really have the time or the inclination to do a lot about it, then read on…

The simple truth is that internet security is becoming an ever-bigger issue for most people in mainstream society who aren’t at all computer-savvy and therein lies a great danger. Where there’s a huge amount of money, there’s always a huge amount of crime.

The web has really only been around in the true mainstream since the turn of the century and in just 13 years it’s become the shopping “norm” for billions of people. According to the BBC, for example, the online grocery shopping industry is now estimated to be worth £117.6bn (around $189 billion) to the UK economy alone.

So when so many people are handling so much money in an environment where theft can be relatively easy for people who are far more tech-savvy than most of us could ever become in a lifetime of trying; then it’s high time most of us did something about it.

But where do you start?

There are many companies out there purporting to be able to offer virus protection, but then you need to go to another for a bundle deal and another for PC maintenance services etc., and maybe another for safe data storage. All this adds up to a bit of a nightmare for most people in the mainstream who aren’t really interested in doing all this stuff – preferring to live a real life not glued to the computer screen all day.

It’s this kind of opportunity that has seen companies like CenturyLink @Ease and others step in. Such companies specialise in making it easy for customers to cover off all their concerns in one neat bundle. Such companies also realise that the security of their reputation is absolutely everything, so they have to go the extra mile in ensuring their systems meet with the harshest scrutiny. After all, just one unfortunate episode in which their security was somehow found wanting would completely undermine the business model. This is also what helps make them a safe bet – as well as being a straightforward one for those of us who seek simplicity in these matters.

So whether you’re emailing, browsing the web, shopping online or downloading a movie, you need to know you’re secure – and you need to find the right provider to make sure you are. This will only become more important in the future.
