High honour for Hyundai’s master of the mountains

Alan, 51, has been made an OBE in recognition of his supreme climbing skills and contribution to the sport of mountaineering. In 2005 he conquered the daunting Kangchajunga in Nepal and became the first Briton to scale the world’s 14 highest peaks, a feat equalled by just 12 other climbers worldwide.
Hyundai has also recognised Alan’s remarkable skills and bravery by providing him with a four-wheel drive Tucson CRTD CDX, a vehicle that perfectly reflects his go-anywhere spirit. The Tucson’s intelligent 4WD system and high specification make it the perfect transport for Alan as he travels the country with his entertaining Full Mounty lecture show and ventures to more remote areas to lead and advise on expeditions.
"I am thrilled and very proud to have my achievement honoured with an OBE," said Alan, whose climbing campaign spanned 18 years. "I’m delighted, too, that Hyundai has been able to provide me with the Tucson, a car that’s brilliantly equipped when it comes to tackling challenging drives in comfort and safety."
You don’t have to be a world-conquering adventurer to enjoy the rewards of the Tucson, however: the formidable SUV is available to all in a range priced from £14,395 on the road, all of which come with Hyundai’s unique seal of quality, industry leading five year unlimited mileage, fully transferable warranty.
