New homes will bring more than £400,000 investment to Bidford-on-Avon
Housebuilder Taylor Wimpey West Midlands will invest more than £400,000 in local community facilities as part of a brand new homes development in Bidford-on-Avon, Warwickshire.
The development of 108 high-quality homes has been granted planning permission by Stratford-on-Avon District Council, with the first two, three and four-bedroom properties now on sale.
The £416,819 being pledged by Taylor Wimpey in association with the development includes £323,151 towards local education provision, £72,500 towards public transport and £21,168 towards library facilities.
In addition, 20% of the new homes to be constructed at the development will be designated as affordable housing while public open space and children’s play facilities will also be provided on site, as well as land reserved for a medical centre.
On top of these contributions, the development will bring additional investment to the local community through the New Homes Bonus initiative. Under this scheme, the Government match-funds the council tax raised from the building of each of the development’s 108 new homes, with the money provided directly to the local authority.
Elaine Taylor, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “Every single new home we build at Taylor Wimpey is part of a community, and we are committed to ensuring this exciting new development in Bidford-on-Avon offers much more than just high-quality properties for local people.
“We are delighted to confirm our investment of more than £400,000, which will help to improve public facilities and infrastructure for the benefit of the whole community, ensuring that this sustainable new homes development will both complement and enhance the local area.”
