The New Year marks a fresh chapter for Peugeot in the UK, with the showroom debut of the stunning New 308. Preparations are almost complete and have included a fresh new approach to Dealer training.

For each of 13 days over the last month, 75 employees from across the nationwide Dealer network (that’s almost 1,000 Dealer Employees) have visited Peugeot’s Coventry HQ – more than for any other recent new model launch.

Their day-long program included getting up close and personal with the New 308’s innovative touch-screen infotainment system, one of the many highlights of the compact hatchback’s stunning Peugeot ‘i-Cockpit’ interior.

The familiarisation tutorial involved working out how to complete 10 common tasks using the on-screen controls, so sales staff can easily demonstrate the benefits to customers back at their Dealership.

Peugeot’s Director of Sales, Neil Moscrop commented: “The New 308’s 9.7-inch touch-screen is one of the biggest of any new car and extremely intuitive for users of all ages. But Dealers need to be confident in showing off its many features to potential buyers and challenging them like this is a great way to educate them.”

The ‘tech tasks’ included turning off the parking sensors, saving a DAB digital radio station into the pre-sets, adjusting the climate control and using the interactive ‘help’ function.

Understanding the touch-screen was just one of a number of in-depth seminars helping retail colleagues understand every aspect of the New 308. They also had the chance to take a test drive and compare the car to key competitors.

Moscrop continued: “We’re devoting a quarter of the training to the car’s new technology, more than ever before. Everything about the development of the New 308 has been about going that ‘extra mile’, and that extends to preparations for its arrival in showrooms.”

The New Peugeot 308 oozes style, efficiency and quality and delivers an impressive driving experience. It is now available to order and officially on sale from 2nd January 2014, priced from £14,495.
