Sat nav owners avoid speeding fines and penalty points A satellite navigation supplier that guarantees the user against picking up a ticket from any speed camera is claiming a 100% success rate for motorists.

The Rossini Navigator and Speed Camera spotter was launched in late 2006 offering drivers door-to-door navigation anywhere in the UK and Ireland. It also offers what is claimed to be one of the most comprehensive databases of speed cameras, warning of all types of camera and camera locations. The supplier offers a guarantee to pay their customer £60 if the motorist is unfortunate enough to pick up a ticket while their device is being used. The supplier of the device, Car Parts Direct claims they have not received a single claim from their 2085 customers.

Mark Cornwall of Car Parts Direct said, “Our research found that drivers wanted a cast iron guarantee against picking up a speeding ticket – we provide that. They needed a product they can immediately use without any complicated downloading from a computer – and we provide that too. Because the Rossini Navigator is simple to operate it really does get used by our customers, it’s not a toy – it’s a licence saver.”

Road safety campaigner, Paul Smith of Safe Speed said: “Based on the average rate of prosecutions we would have expected around 32 speeding tickets to purchasers of the Navigator in the last three months, so this is a great result. Either the purchasers are significantly smarter than average or the device really does keep drivers out of trouble. Either way it sounds like a club worth joining.”

The Rossini Navigator provides visual and verbal warning, the driver hears the words, ‘Beware watch your speed’ before any speed camera. There is no subscription for updates of information and the unit is fully transferable between vehicles in seconds and is ready to use from opening the box.

The Rossini Navigator costs £399. For further information, visit carparts-direct.co.uk.
