Johnny and Jeep together in their natural habitat

Johnny and Jeep together in their natural habitat TV wildlife expert Johnny Kingdom has teamed up with Jeep to promote their latest 4x4 model.

Needing a vehicle that can handle the toughest of terrains and reach the most inaccessible areas of the rugged landscape in Exmoor where he regularly films, Johnny knew which legendary 4x4 manufacturer would have the goods he required.

And only too happy to help, Jeep has supplied him with an all-new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.

Johnny, who has lived on Exmoor all his life and has become a renowned wildlife photographer and documentary maker, said: “In my line of work you never know what each day will bring, where you might need to go and how quickly you might need to get there.

“Having a suitable vehicle for both on-road and off-road travel is essential as you only get the one chance to capture the image that you need and the Wrangler fitted the role perfectly.”

The iconic Jeep Wrangler, which has been redesigned for 2007, boasts a new diesel powered auto version with a 2.8-litre engine and is priced from £17,995. It is available as a two-door, or long-wheelbase four-door Wrangler Unlimited version. There are also a handful of Jeep Wrangler ‘Rubicon’ models with a 3.8-litre petrol engine.

Both the two-door and four-door versions retain removable full-framed doors and fold-down windscreen with a removable hard-top that provides more options for open-air driving.

The ‘Freedom Top’ is a three-piece modular hardtop and features separate left- and right-front passenger roof panels that can be removed and stored in the vehicle, together with a rear section that can also be removed.

Peter Lambert, Managing Director of the Chrysler Group UK, said: “Jeep has set the benchmark for 4x4 vehicles with a virtually bottomless well of off-road talent and peerless performance in all conditions, whatever the terrain, so this latest assignment is a chance for the Wrangler to showcase its abilities in its natural habitat.

“And this new model is a significant step forward from the old vehicle, as it offers a diesel auto engine for the first time, a choice of two-door and four-door models, much better road manners, reduced noise levels, a host of safety features and an all-new interior with space for five adults and their luggage.”
