The four-star Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel in Bowness-on-Windermere has a fantastic deal available for stays over the February half term holidays.

From February 15th to 22nd, children under the age of 14 can enjoy a free bed and breakfast stay with parents paying £99 pppn for dinner, bed and breakfast. Children’s dinner can be enjoyed at a supplement and the parents’ evening meal is a five-course affair served in the 2AA rosette dining room.

The Country House Hotel always holds many delights for families, as it was once owned by author Beatrix Potter and it is from where she wrote and illustrated the ‘Tale of Timmy Tiptoes’ and ‘The Tale of Pigling Bland.’

This half term, children staying at the hotel will also find the hugely popular children’s magical fantasy book, The Befana Drama, on their pillow, signed by author Gianna Hartwright. This book costs £8.99 and is a great read for children aged 8+.

Kids can also enjoy a dip in the indoor pool with their parents and spot wildlife in the six-acre gardens. Down in Bowness itself, they can also visit The World of Beatrix Potter

The 34-bedroomed hotel has roaring log fires and comfy lounges in which to sit and read a book and children can also watch the Zebra Finches in the hotel’s aviary – a bird species that Beatrix Potter herself kept.
