AXA Self Investor aims to make investing easier

25th February 2014 Print

AXA Self Investor has announced changes to its pricing, which cut the cost of investing through its online investment service.

The AXA Self Investor Stocks and Shares ISA and Trading Account charges are now set at 0.35% per annum for investments valued up to £250,000, and 0.2% per annum where accounts have a combined value of £250,000 or more. Investors with over £250,000 will pay the lower charge of 0.2% per annum on all of their investments, so there is no complicated tiering.  For an investment of £100,000, this pricing change will save AXA Self Investor customers £150 a year.

Investors also benefit from AXA Self Investor’s Crystal Clear Price Promise. The service does not charge exit fees or impose any transaction charges to buy or sell funds. There are also no initial fund charges, no hidden monthly ‘service’ charges, no commission paid to fund managers and no transfer in or transfer out charges.

Our introductory offer includes a guarantee of no ISA account charge until May 2015 for new customers opening an ISA before 6 April this year. This means that a new ISA customer could invest up to £11,520 this tax year, £11,880 next tax year and transfer in ISAs without limit from other providers, and pay no account charge until May 2015.

The only charges that a new ISA customer will incur with AXA Self Investor are ‘clean share class’ fund manager charges.  AXA Self Investor offers over 1,000 investment options selected from 30 of the leading fund managers.  This includes a large choice of tracker funds priced from just 0.10% per annum as well as discounted multi-asset funds from its sister company Architas (starting at 0.25% per annum).  Overall the average annual management charge across its entire range is a very competitive 0.65% per annum.  Within this, bond and gilt funds start at 0.15% per annum and actively managed funds from 0.35% per annum.

Gordon Hull, director, AXA Self Investor, said: “Last month we announced our Stocks and Shares ISA Crystal Clear Price Promise, which included the offer of an account charge-free period until 1 May 2015.

“With this announcement, we believe we have one of the most competitive online Stocks and Shares ISAs available. Those investing in this tax year still benefit from the account-free offer until 1 May 2015, after which time the new lower account fee of 0.2% or 0.35% on investments will apply.

“Our Stocks and Shares ISA is highly competitive, with no hidden extra charges - what you see is what you get. Investors will also benefit from our commitment to keep things simple, with a new website full of handy tools, videos and guides to help them to make their own investment decisions and a UK-based customer support team who they can chat to over the phone or online. And the service comes from one of the largest and strongest financial services companies in the world.

"It is a proposition aimed at making investing straightforward and affordable; even for those who have no previous experience of investing on their own without advice."
