Ben & Jerry’s 36th Annual Free Cone Day

3rd April 2014 Print

In time-honoured tradition, beloved ice cream company Ben & Jerry’s will throw open the doors of its scoop shops across the UK this 8th April, for the much-anticipated 36th annual Free Cone Day!

A habit that started back in 1979 when founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield thanked the locals for supporting their start-up ice cream venture in Vermont by giving out free scoops of their frozen concoctions, Free Cone Day has been happening every year since!

Ride the Caramel Chew Chew train, freshen it up with Mint Chocolate Chunk, go nuts for the Peanut Butter Cup or embrace the brainfreeze of Baked Alaska – it’s all possible this Free Cone Day if you head down to your nearest participating scoop shop. Whether it’s a favourite you’re craving or you want to get your spoon into the delectable new offerings of Cone Sweet Cone and S’mores, fans can re-join the queue as many times as they like!

And if it’s FroYo you’re hankering for, you can dig into the brand new Greek Style Frozen Yogurt flavours, Vanilla Honey Caramel and Raspberry Chocolatey Chunk. These rich and creamy low-fat treats are new to scoop shops and still as decadently tasty as the chunky ice cream!

Zhelin Chen, Assistant Brand Manager at Ben & Jerry’s said: “There’s nothing quite like the delight we see from people on Free Cone Day – it’s a great opportunity for us to say thank you to our customers in the best way we know how – free ice cream! Everyone gets involved and there’s always a real holiday feeling on the day – we’re excited for this year’s Free Cone Day and we hope our fans are too.”

Don’t monkey around when it comes to phishing for your free scoop of ice cream, log on to benjerry.co.uk to find your nearest participating Scoop Shop and make sure you check the Facebook page for more updates and news! facebook.com/benjerryuk
