New homes set for spring launch in Miles Platting

8th April 2014 Print

The regeneration of East Manchester is set to take another major step forward this spring when the next phase of homes goes on sale at Platting Village.

Housebuilder Lovell will eventually build over 1,000 new homes in Miles Platting building on its solid reputation in the area for high quality, affordable homes.

The new phase, named Faraday Green, will launch in May and follows on from the highly successful neighbouring Gener8 development. Offering an affordable alternative to renting in Manchester, the new homes will provide spacious layouts, gardens and parking, while being within easy reach of the city centre.

Clare Noakes, regional sales manager for Lovell (North West), said: “It’s exciting to be part of such a huge regeneration project in East Manchester, an area that is enjoying ongoing investment. We look forward to making Platting Village the chosen destination for professionals, families and first time buyers looking for a stylish brand new home close to Manchester city centre.”

Platting Village will eventually include a number of new and refurbished green open spaces, including a new park to run alongside the Rochdale Canal.

Clare added: “This part of Manchester has a rich heritage, which can be seen all around including at nearby Victoria Mill, which has been renovated and is now a hub for the local community. As part of our redevelopment project, we have made substantial investments towards improving local parks, much of which will be complete this summer. This will transform the area into a place where residents can relax and children can play.”

A sales office and show homes will open later this year and prior to that the 85 two, three and four-bedroom homes will be sold ‘off-plan’.

The homes have the added benefit of being built to Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. This means they will feature energy efficient appliances and heating systems, low energy lighting and fixtures and fittings that reduce water consumption. This all adds up to a home that is more economical and therefore cheaper to run. Each home will also be fitted with a Smart Meter.

Situated within an established residential area, future residents of Platting Village will not only have an exciting new place to call home, they will be within easy reach of a host of local amenities including the £7.4m Park View Community Primary School, Miles Platting and Ancoats Sure Start Children’s Centre, Victoria Mill and the sports facilities at Eastlands.
