There are many good reasons for a dream holiday with the whole family in the Seychelles. Endless flat beaches with fine sand add to enjoyable and safe fun in the water for children and pure relaxation for parents. Because the continuously warm climate in the Seychelles never wanders into the extremes, these experiences are year round.

There are also other advantages in Seychelles that would otherwise argue against taking children on a long-distance trip. The Seychelles is one of the few countries in the tropics that can be visited without any special preventative vaccinations, meaning there is no risk of malaria, yellow fever or cholera. The Seychelles are a perfect destination for long-distance travel for families. Due to the minor time difference travellers sleep patterns, especially children, does not get disturbed. Even small details contribute to holiday recreation.

Another positive point is that there are not any dangerous animals on the islands. Instead there is rare flora and fauna to marvel at - young children will be especially fascinated. Whether it is the smallest frog, the unusual double nut species Coco-de-Mer or the rare jellyfish tree - of which there are only eight existing – the Seychelles is a place of unique biodiversity. Plus the famous giant tortoise can be watched from a very close distance because on Mahé they are so trusting they can be stroked and fed with salad. The daily tortoise feeding gives the opportunity to experience these animals at close range.

Small adventures await and even one or two pirate stories! The legendary pirate Oliver Le Vasseur, also called La Buse, plied his dastardly trade at the beginning of the 18th century in the Indian Ocean and around Seychelles. La Buse’s treasure has never been found and historians venture that a part of the riches could still be hidden in Seychelles. The hunt for the pirate treasure can immediately start in the capital, Victoria, with a visit to the historical cemetery – the site of La Buse’s last resting place.

Families can comfortably travel around the island. The Jardin du Roi, a traditional old French spice-garden, a real experience for the senses. Here vanilla, cocoa beans as well as cinnamon and pepper can be found.

This paradise on earth is also affordable for families. The Coral Strand Smart Choice Hotel (coralstrand.com) stands out with a completely new hotel concept in Seychelles: premium comfort at an affordable price.
