Fashion designers reveal greatest influence
Radisson Blu Edwardian, Bloomsbury Street is preparing to welcome the elite of menswear fashion as the Official Hotel of London Collections: Men. This year, the 147-room hotel will launch its own designer showcase – the Bloomsbury Street Set – as part of its role which it has held since the twice-annual celebration of British men’s talent began.
Joseph Turvey, Domingo Rodrigues and Tom Lipop were all chosen as the three designers to take part in the first “Bloomsbury Street Set” showcase on 15th June. The designer showcase is part of the luxury hotel’s commitment to promoting the London fashion scene and celebrating emerging talent and the hotel are hopeful it will become a regular fixture at London Collections: Men and integral to its role as the official hotel of London Collections: Men.
To launch the showcase top names from the fashion industry came together in advance of London Collections: Men to discuss how to make the classic designs of the past relevant to the modern man. Hosted at Radisson Blu Edwardian, Bloomsbury Street, the official hotel for London Collections: Men, the discussion saw insightful commentary from Dean Gomelisk-Cole, creative director, Turnbull and Asser and designers Joseph Turvey and Domingo Rodriguez.
Joseph Turvey graduated just under two years ago and has already worked with River Island, NewEra, Hushpuppies, Lavenham and Eastpak. Domingo Rodrigues has had two exclusive capsule collections for ASOS and presented during Paris Fashion Week in June 2010 as one of Esquire Magazines ‘7 Brilliant Brits.’ Tom Lipop has worked with River Island and launched his T.L brand as a ready to wear label to wide critical acclaim in 2011. Tom Lipop has also held senior design positions at Nathan Jenden, House of Holland and Griffin Laundry as well as featuring predominately on Sky One’s Project Catwalk.
