Families who have outgrown their old home and are longing for more space can get more for their money at Taylor Wimpey’s Heritage Park development in Wixams, Bedfordshire, thanks to the Help to Buy scheme.

There’s a range of attractive family-size houses currently available at Heritage Park, offering purchasers the chance to secure ample living space within this sought-after new community.

Help to Buy enables eligible first-time buyers and those with a property to sell to secure a Government loan for up to 20% of their new home’s full price – so they only need a 75% loan-to-value mortgage and a deposit as low as 5%.

With three-bedroom houses priced from £230,000 at Heritage Park and four-bedroom designs from £260,000, home-hunters may be able to purchase a bigger house than they may have thought they could afford.

Steve Rolt, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “For homebuyers who have growing families, or those who simply want to take that next step up from their current home, Help to Buy is an ideal way to upgrade to a bigger property while staying within budget.

“Heritage Park has proven incredibly popular and is a great place for families, so parents who are looking for a comfortable new base to bring up their children should act without delay.”

The four-bedroom ‘Houghton’ link-detached house is priced at £260,000 and boasts a large living/dining room opening through French doors to the private rear garden, plus a kitchen/breakfast room and a guest cloakroom off the entrance hallway.

Upstairs, the landing leads to an en-suite master bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, three further bedrooms and a main bathroom, while outside, the property benefits from a garage and driveway parking.

Alternatively, the ‘Gosford’, priced from £230,000, features a similarly-spacious ground-floor layout, with three bedrooms, one with en-suite facilities, and a bathroom upstairs, plus a garage and/or parking outside.

Help to Buy is available on new-build properties up to the value of £600,000 and there is no salary cap for homebuyers taking advantage of the scheme.

Heritage Park is part of Lakeview, the first of four villages which will make up the self-contained, sustainable town of Wixams, three miles south-west of Bedford.

Designs for the new community draw on the best traditions of Bedfordshire’s market towns and homes will benefit from new shops, community and leisure facilities, schools and employment areas, in addition to 300 acres of sports pitches, parklands and green open space.

A new transport network puts bus stops within comfortable walking distance of the homes, a new railway station will provide quick links to London and nearby towns and cities, and an extensive network of cycleways and paths will make getting around a breeze.

Beyond the town boundaries, the re-aligned A6 and the A421 Bedford southern bypass put the region’s major commuter routes, including the M1 and A1, within easy reach, while those travelling further afield will appreciate that Luton Airport is just 15 miles away.

House-hunters can secure a wonderful new family home using Help to Buy by visiting the Heritage Park Sales Centre, located at 1 Brooklands Avenue, Wixams, Bedfordshire, MK42 6AX, and open daily from 10am to 5pm (Mondays midday to 5pm). Alternatively, visit taylorwimpey.co.uk.
