Taylor Wimpey invests £140,000 in local area as part of Tregorrick View development

Leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey has recently handed over more than £140,000 to the local community as part of its new Tregorrick View development in St Austell, Cornwall.

The new homes at Tregorrick View enjoy a fantastic location within easy reach of peaceful countryside, dramatic coastline and beautiful beaches and over 90% of the properties at the development have now been snapped up by savvy buyers.

As part of the development, Taylor Wimpey has recently contributed £77,460 towards local education, while a further payment of £65,109 has been made for off-site public open space.

The investment forms part of the planning agreement with the local authority which will ultimately see community funding totalling around £400,000 provided by the housebuilder.

Cllr Tom French, from Cornwall Council, said: “I was delighted to receive this cheque on behalf of Cornwall Council and to see how Taylor Wimpey has built this attractive housing development on a brown field site so close to the town centre. I would just add how important it is for Cornwall Council to work closely with developers to achieve the maximum benefit for the local community from these section 106 contributions”
