Following the announcement that Virgin Atlantic is heading to the Deep South with the introduction of its new direct flights into Atlanta, Georgia from 26 October, US specialist, Bon Voyage is highlighting its selection of fly-drive itineraries to this region, all of which begin in Atlanta.

The company, which is a Deep South specialist, knows the region ‘like the back of its hand’ and reckons that thousands more travellers will now head south to experience the charming ‘Southern Hospitality’, the unique history, legendary music scene and year-round mild temperatures.

Self-drive itineraries on offer include 13-night Back Roads of Georgia holiday – introduced in 2014 and exclusive in the UK to Bon Voyage – where visitors will discover scenic back roads, magnificent antebellum homes, Atlantic islands and dramatic mountain ranges.

Highlights include Savannah – recently designated as ‘one of the most distinctively historic cities in the country’ – the unspoilt beaches on Tybee and Jekyll islands, the fascinating Okefenokee Swamp, the elegant cities of Thomasville and Rome and the Appalachian Mountains.

Twin-share prices lead in at £1725 per person inclusive of return Virgin Atlantic flights from Heathrow, car hire, 13 nights room-only accommodation in superior hotels and inns in sought-after locations and a personalised road book, with detailed driving instructions.
