New jobs created by Stourbridge investment

Work begins next week on a major refurbishment by a leading Midlands business, creating new jobs and providing an investment boost to the local economy.

Stourbridge Volkswagen, part of Trust Group UK with further Volkswagen sites in Wolverhampton and Redditch, is to undergo a £450,000 facelift.

But the dealership at Millennium House, Audnam, is keen to assure customers that it is ‘business as usual’ while the programme of works is underway.

Simon Volans, brand manager at Stourbridge Volkswagen, said: “This is a significant investment by the Trust Group, with the Volkswagen brand going from strength to strength.

“It shows a real commitment by us to the Stourbridge business community, as well as being a significant investment in the local economy.”

Six new jobs are expected to be created, including three new sales positions and a new technician’s role.

During the refurbishment the showroom will be overhauled resulting in state-of-the art customer-focused amenities. The digital showroom will enable customers to configure their dream car on in-store iPads featuring a dedicated Volkswagen app.

The work is expected to be finished by early January.

Simon added: “I would like to assure customers that there will be no interruption to service during our refurbishment and that it is business as usual from us all. We may be operating our sales and servicing from portable cabins, but I know our customers will support us during our re-fit.

“And I’m totally confident that it will all be worth it. The high level of investment shows our commitment to establishing Stourbridge Volkswagen as a key employer in the area, and to delivering the level of customer service that is expected from such a prestigious brand.”
