Home-buying boost buoyed by confidence

Esteemed homebuilder Taylor Wimpey has described how the government-backed Help to Buy initiative has given considerable confidence to Yorkshire buyers, and sales success across its 12 active home schemes in the region are testament to this.

The popular incentive allows eligible purchasers the option of securing any new home worth up to the value of £600k with just a five per cent deposit; meaning both first-time buyers and existing home-owners can not only buy sooner, but buy bigger.

Anne Bagshaw, regional sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey says: “There has definitely been a marked shift in attitude from buyers at all ends of the property ladder since the introduction of Help to Buy.

“This has been particularly evident when introducing new developments in the region; as aspiring home-owners are swiftly snapping up our designs and buying off-plan.

“That low deposit makes all difference as it means less time saving and allows buyers to consider purchasing that bigger forever home.”

As well as the chance to secure homes with just five per cent deposit, buyers also benefit from a 20 per cent government equity loan with Help to Buy, meaning they only require a 75 per cent loan-to-value mortgage.

Anne concludes: “We have some fantastic developments across Yorkshire, and Help to Buy is available across the board. I’d urge anybody who is keen to get moving to get in touch or visit our sales centre’s on-site where our team is always happy to help.”
