Boomerang – the maker of hit peak time format Posh Pawn - has been commissioned to produce a spin off format for daytime on Channel 4.

The Deal Makers (WT), a 20 x 60 minute series, will follow a number of high-end, characterful pawn-brokers from across the UK and feature the amazing items and owners who flood through the doors.

The series will unearth everything from high-value family heirlooms, stunning jewellery and flash cars to curious collectables, unique antiques and weird memorabilia.

David Sayer, Channel 4, said: “We’re delighted to bring such an engaging new show to our daytime schedule. Following on from the massive success of Posh Pawn in peak time, The Deal Makers (WT) will introduce a whole new audience to the weird and wonderful world of pawn brokers.”

Gareth Rees, MD of Boomerang, said: “It’s great to make this significant move in to Daytime and an exciting opportunity to build on the success of Posh Pawn, opening the lid on pawn-broking across the whole of the UK and unearthing the amazing items that the British public have hidden away.”

David Sayer is the commissioning editor for Channel 4 and Jon Lloyd is the Executive Producer for Boomerang.

Meanwhile, Boomerang’s peak time Channel 4 series Posh Pawn has secured a special episode to air at Christmas.
