More deliveries for Volvo Trucks in January The demand for heavy trucks remained strong on several Volvo Trucks markets. All told, 7,786 trucks (5975) were delivered in January, an increase of 30 per cent compared with the same period last year. In Eastern Europe, the number of deliveries increased by 144 per cent, totalling 877 vehicles (360).

On the European market, deliveries rose by 47 per cent to 3880 trucks (2646). Increased deliveries were noted primarily in Poland and Russia, rising to 207 vehicles (79) and 157 vehicles (45) respectively. Deliveries increased in Western Europe too. In Germany, the number of delivered vehicles totalled 444 (246) while in Spain 379 trucks (268) were delivered during the first month of this year.

In North America, the demand for heavy trucks continued. An increase of 15 per cent was noted in the USA, with deliveries totalling 2343 vehicles (2043).

In South America too, the positive trend continued, with deliveries amounting to 435 vehicles (327), an increase of 33 per cent. Brazil noted an upswing of 24 per cent with 338 (272) vehicles delivered.

In Africa and the Middle East too there were increased deliveries, as well as in Asia which registered an increase of 10 per cent. In the Middle East, the number of vehicles delivered totalled 317 (276), which is an increase of 15 per cent. The African market took deliveries of 221 trucks (121), an increase of 83 per cent.
