VW Group’s SEAT brand has been quietly carving itself a niche as a cool purveyor of quick, quality cars for several years now, but with the release of the latest Leon Cupra, things have moved up several notches. As one of the most sought-after tuning platforms in the VW family line-up, Milltek has spent an appropriate amount of time creating a truly comprehensive extraction solution for this car.
Milltek is well known for ticking all of the boxes with spectacular attention to detail on all of its systems, but for the Cupra, it really has dotted the ‘I’s and crossed the ‘T’s with a package that even includes the option of a bespoke tuning box from scene legend Steinbauer to ensure that everything runs perfectly straight ‘out of the box’.
The system itself is hand finished in Milltek’s Derbyshire factory from the finest grade of non-magnetic stainless steel. Based around the race proven 3” (76.2mm) diameter the system promises impressive gains in both power and torque, but without the drone and resonance at motorway speeds that can often be found on lesser designs. A large bore downpipe options allows those looking for ultimate power gains to remain totally road legal, or of preferred, the factory catalyst can be left in place to allow a choice of cat-back resonated or non-resonated systems to be fitted. Thanks to considerable OEM experience in manufacturing, Milltek has already prepared a fully E-marked system for those that like their tuning to be on the right side of legislation – with all of the paperwork to match!
Tail trims can make or break a good exhaust design and here, Milltek’s designers have got things spot on once again. A pair of 152x76mm oval trims, with the option of the durable and attractive Cerakote finish for those that want stealth and good looks that last forever.
