Hughes Specialised Transport maintain an all Volvo fleet

The recent purchase increases the ‘window profile’ transportation company’s fleet to 10 Volvo trucks.
Since Hughes Specialised Transport began trading just 5 years ago, Managing Director, Evan Hughes has only ever purchased Volvo. “I originally purchased Volvo based on their reputation for being a reliable truck,” he commented, adding that, “After having twelve Volvos in recent years I can honestly say that their reputation is greatly deserved.”
In terms of vehicle performance Evan has a range of artics that can be tailored to any task in hand. With various vehicles over the years ranging from 340 hp to 520 hp, Evan wanted to test a new model not currently in their fleet.
The latest FH additions were specified with 480 and 520bhp, along with Globetrotter XL cabs in ‘Prestige’ trim and were both plated for 44 tonne GCW.
Evan stated that, “Operating various Volvo trucks, we’ve had first hand experience of most of the FH range, and all of which have been extremely reliable and have performed well.”
The two vehicles were purchased from Area Sales Manager, Tony Hughes at Thomas Hardie Commercials in Deeside, where they will be serviced and maintained.
Along with the rest of the “Hughes Fleet” the vehicles will be based at their purpose-built transport depot at Madog Quarry, Blaenau Ffesttiniog.
