GA Newsome Haulage returns to the Volvo fold with EGR

After purchasing other marques for the past four years, Nantwich-based, GA Newsome Haulage Ltd have returned to Volvo by adding four new EGR-engined Volvo FH tractor units to its 30 strong fleet.

Already operating 23 Volvo trucks, the new Euro 4 units will replace existing vehicles as part of the general haulage and ADR operators five-year vehicle replacement programme.

Managing Director Geoff Newsome explained, “After trying out other manufacturers I have decided to return to Volvo. They are a reliable truck and always maintain a high residual value.”

The latest FH-500 additions were plated for 44 tonne GCW and specified with 500bhp, Euro 4 with EGR technology, 16-speed gearboxes and all topped off with Globetrotter ‘XL’ cabs in ‘Prestige’ trim.

As with the rest of GA Newsome’s Volvo Fleet, the latest vehicles were purchased and maintained at their local Volvo dealership, Thomas Hardie Commercials in Middlewich.

Geoff stated that, “Over the past 12 years I have had over 50 trucks from Thomas Hardie Commercials; their customer service has always been second to none.”

GA Newsome’s new additions can be seen across the Northwest as they carry out a range of general haulage duties.
