Over the past 12 months the family-owned metal processors have invested heavily into the expansion of their company. In fact, over £3.5 million has been spent recently on state-of-the-art facilities, equipment and plant, including the very latest in scrap metal and recycling equipment.

As business has blossomed, Maxilead Metals have continued to enlarge their fleet to cope with the extra capacity and workload. As Chairman, Peter Clay says, “We have always welcomed company growth and development by responding to the metal recycling needs of the industry and of our customers.”

He added, “As well as wanting good prices for their metal our customers want a professional, fast, efficient service and that’s exactly what our Volvo fleet helps us to achieve.”

Continuing, Peter said, “We invest in our employees and our fleet. Everyone is multi-tasked and I only buy quality, reliable trucks and plant.”

Maxilead’s latest addition, a new Volvo FM-400, 8x4 400hp Hooklift was plated for 32 tonne GCW and has been specified with a Day cab in ‘Comfort’ trim.

Peter concluded, “I first purchased a number of Volvo skip loaders three years ago and they have all been exceptional. Ever since then, Volvo has been my first choice. Indeed, every vehicle in the Maxilead Metals fleet was purchased from Thomas Hardie Commercials Ltd.“

The FM Hook loader along with the rest of the company’s fleet will be serviced and maintained at Thomas Hardie’s Depot in Trafford Park, Manchester.
