LTI Vehicles – top performer The Coventry-based manufacturers of a global icon have scooped a prestigious prize in the plc Awards.

Manganese Bronze plc, LTI’s parent company, has received the Best Performing Share Award for its incredible results in the last year.

LTI, based in Holyhead Road, Coventry, manufactures the world-famous London black cab.

The firm’s shares rose 289 per cent in 2006, making it the best performing share outside the FTSE 350 on the London Stock Exchange.

This amazing result has been triggered due to the announcement of a recent joint venture with the China-based Geely Automobile Holdings Limited and the introduction of LTI Vehicles’ latest model, the TX4 which was launched in October 2006 and has been a resounding success.

Mark Fryer, Manganese Bronze Group Finance Director and Peter Shillcock, the Chief Operating Officer of Manganese Bronze and Managing Director of LTI Vehicles, were presented with the award by GMTV presenter Penny Smith at a ceremony at the Grosvenor Hotel in London earlier this month (March).

Peter Shillcock commented: “To receive this prestigious award is a tremendous honour. It not only provides us with the recognition that we deserve as the largest UK owned motor vehicle manufacturer but is also testimony to the fantastic product we produce in the form of the iconic London black cab, as well as being a result of our business development strategy for Manganese Bronze and LTI.”

The plc Awards event was founded in 1987 to reward excellence in the smaller quoted company sector.
