House hunters are being given the opportunity to don a hard hat and high vis and enjoy a sneak preview of new homes as they are being built in Kempsey.

Elan Homes is inviting potential customers to view the houses under construction at a ‘hard hat and boot’ event at its new Derrington Mews development on Saturday, January 24.

Those interested in being one of the first people to step on site can book an appointment to meet the sales team at Kempsey Village Hall, on Main Road, between 10.30am and 1pm. Cake and refreshments will be served before visitors are taken on a VIP viewing of the development.

Derrington Mews is a delightful venture of10 homes in Kempsey, a picturesque village just three miles south of Worcester and surrounded by countryside and farmland.

Andrea Nippe, sales director for Elan Homes in the South, said: “Buying a new build home offers an experience homebuyers just can’t get from purchasing a second hand property. Firstly, they will see their house being built from the foundations up and it can be very exciting to see your future home take shape.

“Then, subject to build stage, there are the practical advantages of being able to specify those finishing touches that make a home personal to the owner such as kitchen units and work tops, bathroom tiles, doors, light switches and fireplaces.

Prices are from £340,000 for a four-bedroom detached family home at Derrington Mews. The homes are all available to purchase through the government-backed Help to Buy scheme. The initiative enables the buyer to take out an equity loan for up to 20% of the purchase price, with the remainder covered by a 5% deposit and a 75% mortgage from their lender of choice.

Alternatively, for those with a property to sell, part exchange could be the perfect option to help speed up a move to a longed-for new home. It means Elan will effectively act as a cash buyer for its customer’s existing home so there’s no risk of becoming stuck in a chain and no estate agent’s fees to pay.
