First UK public showing of new Volvo FH16-660 to be at Truckfest

8th September 2008 Print
Volvo FH16-660 Drivers and operators alike are expected to flock to Thomas Hardie Commercials’ stand at Truckfest North-West (Sept 13-14th 2008), where they will be able to see the first UK public appearance of the new Volvo FH16-660, launched last June.

The new truck, and flagship of the new range, is set to be the biggest star of the show as it forms the centrepiece of the North-West England Volvo Dealer’s stand at the Haydock Park racecourse venue close to Junction 23 of the M6 motorway in Lancashire. The event also kicks off Thomas Hardie’s launch programme for the new range.

The left-hand drive FH16-660 on display is a high specification 8x4 Heavy Hauler and is fully kitted out with a range of factory-fitted Volvo accessories including light-bars, beacons and polished alloy wheels. It was brought over especially from Volvo’s HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden, for an exclusive preview in advance of the first customer trucks, which are scheduled to arrive this autumn.

The Volvo FH16-660 features many unique functional and design details that enhance its exclusivity. These include a completely new interior with top-class ergonomics and the first use of Volvo’s ‘Driver Alert Support system’, which uses a camera to monitor the vehicle's course in relation to the road markings and alerts the driver if the vehicle driving pattern is perceived as irregular.
