Volvo FH-480 6x2 tractors - H W Pryce and Son Ltd Founded in 1965, H W Pryce and Son Ltd is a family-owned transport business based in Wellington, near Telford, Shropshire. The company, which is involved in both European and UK haulage, has recently taken delivery of two Volvo FH-480 6x2 tractors with Globetrotter cabs. Operating nationwide, the trucks are engaged in collecting milk from tanks across the Shropshire region. Pryce’s have had Volvo’s since the business was started and currently have ten on the fleet.

Richard Pryce, a Director of the business for twenty-five years said, “Both the trucks are fitted with the I-Shift automatic gearbox, which we’ve also had on the last six Volvo’s. It’s a brilliant gearbox and the drivers would never want to go back to manual gearboxes now. The fuel economy over the last month on the two new trucks has also been very good. We prefer Volvo’s to other makes and having consistency across the whole fleet makes the logistics of maintenance and parts supply much easier.”

Richard added “We tend to keep the same drivers on trucks. We let them personalize their vehicles, which they really appreciate.”

Both new trucks were supplied by Volvo Dealer Hartshorne, Shrewsbury, who also supply H W Pryce with Adblue.
