Volvo Trucks’ deliveries October 2008

Volvo Trucks Volvo Trucks’ deliveries in the month of October were down by 5% compared with the year-earlier period.

The overall demand in Europe has been weakening. This has now started to affect the European delivery rates, which in the month of October decreased with 19%. Volvo Trucks has during the autumn adapted the production capacity in Europe and the delivery times are now ‘normal’ at between 8 to 12 weeks.

The demand for trucks in North America is still at a low level and deliveries in North America decreased by 12%.

The deliveries in South America and Asia remained at a high level. In October, the deliveries were up 29% in South America and 53% in Asia, whereof Middle East increased with 117%. However, there are signs of increased uncertainty on macro level in these regions.
