Volvo Trucks’ deliveries October 2008

The overall demand in Europe has been weakening. This has now started to affect the European delivery rates, which in the month of October decreased with 19%. Volvo Trucks has during the autumn adapted the production capacity in Europe and the delivery times are now ‘normal’ at between 8 to 12 weeks.
The demand for trucks in North America is still at a low level and deliveries in North America decreased by 12%.
The deliveries in South America and Asia remained at a high level. In October, the deliveries were up 29% in South America and 53% in Asia, whereof Middle East increased with 117%. However, there are signs of increased uncertainty on macro level in these regions.
