Volvo Trucks’ new website invites you to explore core values

1st December 2008 Print
Are hybrid refuse trucks cleaner than others? Who is behind the wave of truck thefts? And how does Volvo Trucks contribute to better health and a cleaner environment for you and me? This and much else is being communicated via an all-new version of volvotrucks.com – Volvo Trucks’ global portal on the Internet.

“Our industry is technology-oriented and it is easy to focus solely on the truck itself rather than the wider context in which our products operate. That is why we want to tell the story about the work behind our core values – quality, safety and environmental care. It covers everything from what is actually involved in building the world’s safest trucks, to how we contribute to the development of tomorrow’s environmentally optimised transport solutions,” says Tommy Kohle, Senior Vice President Corporate Communications, Volvo Trucks.

In order to provide a broad and in-depth picture of the various subject areas, the company’s website has been given an entirely new starting page. By linking together a number of different data sources, material is delivered in a variety of formats – video, photos, articles, press releases – about the subject area selected by the visitor.

“Our aim is to present interesting information in a way and in a context that feels engaging and involving even to people who have no direct link with our trucks,” explains Eva Carlström, Director Online Communications.

Volvo Trucks hopes that in the longer term, increased interest will also result in dialogue with the site’s visitors.

“We would like to have comments about the content and will work hard to ensure good interactivity on the site,” concludes Eva Carlström.
