Head for the Mecca of curry!

Culinary holiday specialist Trip Feast has created two, new, small group, 15-day tours for fans of Indian food, which is now so popular in the UK that it is regarded just as much a ‘British’ classic as roast beef and fish and chips; one trip is in the north of the country and the other is in the south where both the scenery and cuisine is distinctly different.

Here is a brief synopsis of the two trips – both of which have been reduced in price by £300 – that will take you on a journey to the Mecca of curry, India…

Delicacies of North India: 15 days from £2745 (save £300 off the original price)
Head for the dramatic scenery of the foothills of the Himalayas for this unique culinary experience with highlights including cooking in majestic forts, dining with families in their homes, shopping for fruit and vegetables in local markets and visiting genuine Indian Indian restaurants!

But it’s not just about food – although a whole range of cuisines will be enjoyed on the way – there will also be a walking tour of Old Delhi, a visit to the famous Amber Fort in Jaipur, a chance to see the iconic Taj Mahal at Agra, an elephant back safari and an overnight stay at Dharamsala, the home town of the Dalai Lama, with a visit to both a monastery and local markets.

The holiday departs on 7 November and has a reduced price of £2745 pp (two sharing). This includes international and domestic flights, all transportation, 14-nights’ accommodation in high end hotels, some meals, cooking classes with expert chefs, sightseeing entrance fees and drivers/guides. Taste of South India: 14 days from £2595 (save £300 off the original price)
The south of India has had a chequered history as various countries have fought over the land primarily for its exotic spices and, to this day, it still plays a vital role in the Spice Route.

The itinerary for this unique trip will take you from east to west from the Indian Ocean to the Arabian Sea and, along the way, expert chefs will have you serving up spicy Chettinad seafood and vegetarian dishes enjoyed in Tamil Nadu, and delicious dosas and idlis, South India`s signature food. There will also be visits to spice and pepper plantations, ancient temples and forts, and cooking lessons both on the banks of Kerala`s shimmering backwaters and in the lawns of your idyllic home-stays.

The holiday departs on 22 November and costs £2595 pp (two sharing). This includes international flights, all transportation, 13-nights’ accommodation in high end hotels, most meals, cooking classes with expert chefs, sightseeing entrance fees and drivers/guides.
