Rentokil Initial signs five year Lex fleet contract
Rentokil Initial, one of the world’s leading business service companies, has signed an exclusive five-year supplier agreement with Lex, the UK’s largest vehicle leasing company.Lex will take over responsibility for managing Rentokil Initial’s UK fleet of 6,000 vehicles to include an initial 2,500 vehicle sale and leaseback. The fully outsourced contract was won following an extensive tender process where Lex proved it could manage a complex fleet based on its impressive operational capabilities.
Rentokil Initial is outsourcing all aspects of running its vehicle fleet to Lex, including all accident management and daily rental, as well as fleet management of some leased cars. All cars and vans will be supplied by Lex on full maintenance contract hire agreements.
“This agreement comes on the back of a wholesale review of our vehicle fleet requirements in the UK,” explained Andrew Macfarlane, Rentokil Initial’s Chief Financial Officer. “Vehicle management isn’t part of our core business so we have decided to outsource the whole operation to Lex which has an excellent pedigree in the fleet sector. This will allow us to focus specifically on meeting customer needs and improving operational efficiency within the business.”
“The Rentokil Initial brand is one we see daily on the UK’s roads and we are well placed to provide it with an excellent service,” said Jon Walden, Lex Managing Director.
