Volvo’s used truck retail operation to move closer to customers

18th December 2008 Print
Volvo Trucks Volvo Trucks has announced that, from 24th December 2008, the company’s Used Truck Retail Sales Operation at Coventry will be devolved to the existing depots at Bedford and Didcot, Kettering, Hayes, Enfield and Avonmouth and the new Dealerpoint at Bardon (Leics.). Used Truck Sales staff will be based out of the Dealerpoints.

The move comes some four years after the site, which is located on Middlemarch Business Park, close to Coventry Airport, first opened.

The Used Truck Retail Sales Operation shares the site with the Dealer workshops of Volvo Truck and Bus Centre East Anglia, Coventry. The Dealership is not affected by the move and continues with its normal Aftermarket and New Truck Sales services to customers.

Used Truck Director Peter Groome said of the move. “We’ve been looking at how to both reduce our costs and also how to get closer to our customers. Moving the Used Truck Retail Sales Operation out to these seven Truck Centres should ensure that there will be a conveniently located Used Truck retail site not too far from most of our customers in the Midlands.

We’re also pleased to be able to have the use of the brand new Dealerpoint at Bardon, Leicestershire. This represents a multi-million pound investment with state of the art workshops and customer facilities which provide a great showcase for the Volvo Used Truck operation.”
