BCA increases capacity in the Home Counties

Demand from both buyers and sellers for more ‘auction airtime’ resulted in the new Wednesday sale at Paddock Wood, which went live in February. Around 350 vehicles are offered on the new sales day, with sales sections from Frosts Group, Motorline Group and Whitehouse Group featuring and a new weekly LCV sale, which was previously held fortnightly.
The inaugural Wednesday sale attracted a huge number of buyers from London, Kent, Essex and East and West Sussex. There were spot prizes throughout the day and over £800 raised for Ben thanks to donations by Frosts and Whitehouse. Over 80% of the 350-strong entry of cars and commercials sold on the day.
Subsequent sales have seen similar conversion rates, underlining the strong demand for stock and the introduction of a new section featuring prestige vehicles. BCA has also signed up a number of new buyers at each sale to its MyBCA card scheme.
The most recent sale in March saw average values exceed CAP Clean with strong individual performances, even on older stock.
BCA’s UK Operations Director Simon Henstock commented “The Home Counties are generating noticeably more demand from buyers and we have seen dramatically increased footfall not just in Paddock Wood, but also at Enfield, and reaching up the A1 corridor to Bedford and Peterborough and west across to Blackbushe. Adding the Wednesday sale schedule to Paddock Wood has acted as a pressure valve and allowed that pent-up demand to be satisfied.”
BCA has also announced plans for the complete re-development of the Paddock Wood site, one of the older facilities in BCA’s network, utilising land adjacent to the current site. The multi-million pound project is currently at the design stage.
Henstock continued “BCA’s customers in the Home Countries will have on their doorstep a network of centres which will have been built within the last decade - modern, well-equipped and technologically advanced to deliver the very best in facilities for both buyers and sellers.”
