Volvo gets closer to customers at Bardon open day

According to Regional MD David Sullivan, “The day was successful on a number of levels. Its overall theme was one of working together to manage costs. We offered presentations on Dynafleet, digital tachographs and fuel cost reduction. We’ve had good feedback from the customers who attended so we’re delighted that the information we could share has been helpful to them.”
In addition to its usefulness to customers, the open day delivered real benefits to the Dealerpoint. “It’s a great location and we’ve worked hard to set a high standard there,” says David. “So it was very satisfying to see customers from the local area and beyond come to see what we have to offer. For instance, there was one customer who was unaware of our link with Nissan LCVs and is now looking at sourcing Cabstars through us. Another customer is actively looking at coaches – and we took a solid order for six used trucks on the day. It’s really put Bardon on the map with customers and there are 74 of them out there now spreading the word! We would like to extend our thanks to the customers who were able to take time out of their day to visit and experience what we have to offer.”
Amanda Hiatt, Marketing and PR Director of Volvo Trucks UK, puts the day’s success into a wider context. “This really supports the strategy we’ve adopted at both local and national levels,” she says. “Events like this are proving very popular, the feedback we are getting from our customers is very positive and in the current climate, we believe getting closer to our customers is key. We have a programme for the rest of the year which includes more dealer open days as well as truck Roadshows and local seminars on key issues that our customers are facing like fuel management, up-time, legislation and cost saving initiatives.”
Plans are already in hand to hold another Volvo Truck and Bus Centre East Anglia open day, this time further to the East of the region.
