Competitive price sways Centrol Recycling to buy Volvo

With the decision to purchase Volvo based on driver acceptability, fuel performance and price, Centrol’s Transport Manager, Chris Hanson Jones said, “As well as our drivers requesting the company purchase Volvo, we were provided with a very competitive price on the vehicles.”
Purchased from Volvo dealership, Thomas Hardie Commercials in Liverpool, on a five-year repair and maintenance contract, Chris commented, “From the outset, Thomas Hardie have been very committed to the deal, working closely with us to ensure that we kept within our budget and were supplied with vehicles that matched our requirements.”
All four new additions to the company’s fleet of 19 vehicles were specified with Day cabs in ‘Comfort’ trim along with the addition of Euro 4 compliance and fitted with Volvo’s SCR technology.
In opting for the I-Shift automatic gearbox on the two refuse vehicles, to help improve fuel efficiency, Chris stated, “A key concern for our company - and our customers - is ‘carbon footprint’. Impressive fuel figures from Volvo certainly help towards us minimising the environmental impact of our operation.”
Working regionally, within the Northwest, on a number of contracts, the vehicles will be used for the collection of commercial waste, cardboard, plastic and paper.
