Six ways to generate amazing leads with mobile marketing

15th June 2015 Print

Mobile marketing is becoming more and more important now that so many of us have mobile phones and use them so often. We're glued to these devices so its no wonder it's become such a cost-effective way to generate leads.

SMS marketing

You can get great prices for sending bulk SMS messages so why wouldn't you at least give this a go? SMS marketing has been proved to be more effective than email marketing. In fact, 76% of users are more likely to read a message sooner if it is an SMS rather than an email. This makes SMS great for anything that's time-sensitive.

Consumers are also very likely to make a purchase following a highly relevant mobile message. 64% of users have bought a product after receiving a relevant text from a business.

Progressive profiling forms

If you can make it easier for users to fill in forms on your website then they're more likely to make the effort. Progressive profiling forms will fill in data from a user's previous visits to your website. This means it takes a lot less effort to send a message to your business, fill out a form or apply for a discount, all of which will get you valuable leads.

Create very simple calls-to-action

If you're asking mobile users to jump through hoops, it's very unlikely that you're going to get a lead. Create simple calls-to-action that are visually appealing without being overpowering. A simple image with readable, clickable text makes it easy for mobile users to take the next step.

Concise, actionable copy is the way forward on mobile. Leave the more detailed copy and fancy images for your main site.

Optimise content for mobile

If your website is hard to read or slow to load on mobile then the sales copy you spent a lot of time, effort and money crafting is going to get you nowhere.

As well as being responsive, your website should also be simple and easy to read. Many mobile users get frustrated with slow or complicated websites so make sure yours works perfectly in order to maximise leads.

Make your contact details clickable

Your phone numbers and email addresses should all be clickable from your web page. This makes it so much easier for potential leads to get in contact with you, straight from their mobile devices.

Turning a phone number into a clickable link is as simple as using a little bit of HTML. In the same way that you use 'mailto:' in a link, just use 'tel:'.

Launch a mobile advertising campaign

While SMS is one of the most effective tools in your mobile marketing arsenal, digital adverts are also useful. Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest, all get a huge chunk of their visitors from mobile devices, so why not reach out to these users with an advertising campaign? Encourage users to leave their details in exchange for a competition entry, ebook or a discount.

Mobile marketing is a fantastic way to generate new leads so it's very important to tap into this quickly growing market.
