Whilst most people rue the end of summer and the approach of autumn, top chef’s like Michelin-starred Bryan Webb of Tyddyn Llan in north Wales, get excited about the ingredients that the change of season will bring.

Two of his favourites are Lobster and Grouse and, on Friday October 9th, the ‘Restaurant with Rooms’ will be hosting its annual dinner which stars those two particular delights.

There will be a different wine to enjoy with each course of the feast, chosen by Simon Awdry of Bibendum Wines.

The dinner will comprise…

Hand-made canapés

Salad of Duck Confit with Butter Beans and Anchoïade (accompanied by Esclans Rosé 2013, Château d’Esclans, Provence, France)

Grilled Half Lobster with Coriander, Lime and Ginger Butter (with Wehlener Klosterberg Kabinett 2012, Markus Molitor, Mosel, Germany)

Roast Yorkshire Grouse with Bread Sauce and Game Chips (with Crozes Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert 2007, Paul Jaboulet Aîné, Rhône, France)

The dinner with wines costs £90 per person, and a special overnight B&B rate of £60 per person (two sharing) is available to diners who wish to imbibe without having to drive.

Room upgrades available at a supplement (subject to availability).

Tyddyn Llan is in the shadow of the Berwyn Mountain on the edge of Snowdonia and there are many good walks to enjoy direct from the hotel (free guides available).

There are also a few dog-friendly rooms at Tyddyn Llan (£10 per dog per night) so that the family pet can also enjoy a weekend away.
