Boutique ‘funky’ country house hotel Hammet House, near Cardigan in west Wales, is staging a special South American themed banquet on Friday 23rd October.

The seven-course meal will take guests on a culinary and vino-graphical journey to South America, with each dish designed by head chef Matt Smith, who once trained under Heston Blumenthal at his Knightsbridge restaurant, Dinner.

Each course will be accompanied by organic wines from specialist supplier Vintage Roots (Hammet House boasts the largest organic wine list of any restaurant in the UK).

The full menu will comprise:

Welcome cocktails and hand-made canapes

Chipas and Goats Curd

Carbonada

Asado Prawns with Blood Pudding and Pickled Grapes

Well-aged Argentinian Rump with Chimichurri and Fat Chips Provoleta

Argentinian Chocolate and Dulce De Leche

Apple and Cinnamon Empanadas

The dinner costs £85 per person including the wines.

Diners who wish to make an overnight break of the dinner and not have to worry about driving home can stay at the special discounted rate of £58 pp (two sharing, B&B).
