Leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey is bringing a host of benefits to Stratford-upon-Avon, with the forthcoming launch of a brand new collection of new-build homes.

The new development, on land south of Alcester Road, will comprise 68 much-needed new homes, including 35% affordable properties which will give local residents and key workers the opportunity to enjoy life in a brand new home within their own community.

Plans for the new homes, on land acquired from The Philip Baker Trust, received planning approval in January.
The development will provide jobs for subcontractors and support for local companies during the construction period.
What’s more, Taylor Wimpey will be making significant financial contributions towards improving facilities in the local area, including:

£167,733 for public open space
£63,980 for healthcare
£19,000 for bus infrastructure
£5,100 for travel information packs
£2,323 for right of way improvements
£1,346 for library services.

The local council will also benefit from access to funds under the Government’s New Homes Bonus for increasing the number of homes in the area, which is available to use within the local community.

Construction on the new homes is expected to start in August, with the first plots due to be released for sale in September.

Anne Wallace, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Midlands, says: “We are delighted to have received approval for our plans for this wonderful new development in Stratford-upon-Avon, which will provide a superb selection of new homes for local people in this popular Warwickshire location.

“As a local housebuilder we are an important contributor to the local communities in which we build our new homes, by bringing investment, new facilities and new employment opportunities to the area and we are looking forward to bringing a wealth of benefits to Stratford-upon-Avon with the launch of our new homes here.”

The new homes enjoy a peaceful yet well-connected location off Alcester Road, to the south-eastern fringes of the sought-after historic town Stratford-upon-Avon, famous as the birthplace of William Shakespeare.

Nestled on the banks of the meandering River Avon, the town features traditional shop fronts, quaint tearooms, antique stores, historic monuments and timber-fronted Tudor homes alongside all the conveniences of modern life, including quality shops, bars and restaurants, while the internationally acclaimed Royal Shakespeare Theatre complex features a wide programme of plays and events.

Commuters will appreciate that the development lies within easy reach of Stratford Parkway railway station for services to Birmingham Snow Hill and to Stratford station for London Marylebone. The new homes are also conveniently located for quick road links to Warwick, Coventry and the M40, while Birmingham International Airport is a little over 25 miles away.
