Seven new Ford models spell exciting year for van and truck drivers

24th April 2007 Print
Ford Transit Connect SportVan Ford of Britain's stand at this year's Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC, Birmingham, is a pageant of the exciting new vans and trucks in the Ford commercial vehicle range with seven new models on show.

Drivers who want to get noticed will be thrilled to see the new models especially when they are combined with special edition colours, including eye-catching new reds, oranges and blues.

The whole SportVan family will be together for the first time. Fiesta SportVan went on sale late in 2006 and is already proving popular with young business people who want a stylish dual purpose van. The Transit Connect SportVan concept with its smart striped paintwork and leather interior will star alongside the new Transit SportVan, aimed at business operators who love Transit and want something with a serious style statement to it.

Due on sale in Britain later this year, the new double cab Ranger Wildtrak will be on display for the first time. This new addition to the range will be available with a new 3.0-litre, Euro IV, TDCi engine. It will be available in two new, limited edition colours: chilli orange and passion red. Another new addition to Ranger will be the option of a 3.0-litre TDCi engine with automatic transmission on the high specification Thunder models. This again will appear in showrooms across the country later in 2007.

The new five-cylinder engine, 4.6 tonne and all-wheel-drive Transit will be on sale in Britain by the end of the year with pricing announced nearer the on sale dates in Autumn.

TalkSport radio's Alan Brazil will be transmitting his sports breakfast show live from the Ford stand on Wednesday 25 April. Visitors to the stand can measure their football skills with the virtual penalty kick game and by playing table football on the stand's astro turf. The Football Association's (FA) 'Fans Embassy' new 17-seat, high roof, Transit will be on the stand. This is used at England away games to provide general information to fans while abroad.

Steve Kimber, commercial vehicles director, Ford of Britain, said: "Ford's commercial vehicles are taking Britain by storm, we had record sales in the first quarter of this year. This new line-up is part of the reason for this success – reinvesting in new technology and targeting the particular needs of people who need a great van or truck to do their business."
