Easy living made even easier in Worcester

Eastbank Court in Worcester offers ease of living.

Wanting a property that’s easier to manage tops the list for reasons to downsize and life doesn’t get much easier than at Eastbank Court in Worcester.

The Aspen Retirement development in the Northwick area offers hotel-style living with spacious owner-occupied apartments, excellent communal facilities and the support of friendly staff.

Homeowners can enjoy being pampered in the salon, followed by a hearty lunch with a glass of wine in the licensed restaurant and then perhaps a game of Scrabble in the library, stroll in the gardens or a trip to the theatre.

To ease people into this luxurious way of living, for a limited time only, Aspen is offering to save buyers up to £6,000 by covering the service charge, ground rent, reserve fund for the long-term maintenance of the development, and the rental for a car park space.

Aspen’s Glenys Bastin said: “A lot of people considering downsizing want somewhere more manageable but say there’s a lack of ‘the right kind’ of properties available. Some automatically discount moving to a retirement development, but there’s nowhere quite like Eastbank Court. People are generally surprised by what we have to offer as not only are the apartments spacious, they’re complemented by excellent communal facilities that include much more than the average retirement development and have drawn comparisons to a five-star hotel.

“Living here is very much a lifestyle choice – it offers older people the chance to relax and enjoy the finer things in life. There’s no need to worry about things like maintenance, window cleaning or household chores as they’re all covered by the service charge and if they reserve before October 29 we’ll pay those fees for them for the first year.”

One and two-bedroom apartments are available priced from £184,950 or £147,960 with Aspen shared equity. The scheme gives people aged 70 and over the option to pay just 80% of the purchase price, with Aspen retaining the remaining 20% until the property is resold at a later date.

And while ease of maintenance is a major draw, many of those who’ve moved to Eastbank Court have found that by downsizing their home they’ve upsized their social life, as they can enjoy everything from sing-along sessions, quizzes and fitness classes to a raft of activities and trips organised by the social committee.
