Home-hunters hoping to soak up luxurious riverside living at Diglis Water, Taylor Wimpey’s prestigious development on the southern outskirts of Worcester, are being urged to get in quick while they still can.

It is now 12 years since the leading housebuilder launched this landmark 455-home development which has breathed new life into the area, and with demand for these beautiful new properties in a revitalised setting still running high, only 9 superb apartments remain up for grabs.

Residents have been flocking to join this growing waterside community, located at the junction of the River Severn and the Birmingham and Worcester Canal, keen to enjoy the leisure amenities available with the re-landscaped Riverside Park and glorious towpath walks right on the doorstep.

Jackie Poole has worked as a Sales Executive at Diglis Water since 2011 and says: “It’s been a fantastic place to work and a privilege to see the growth of what has been a really successful urban regeneration project. Previously this was an unloved, unused industrial site and now it’s been brought back to life.

“The new development has enabled residents to enjoy lots of leisure activities here, with riverside walks, cycling and dog walking really popular. People also go rowing or moor up in their canal boats to spend the day here – residents and visitors alike just love it.

“Worcester city centre is just a 20-minute walk away so residents have a quiet and peaceful setting but lots of amenities close by – it’s the best of both worlds! The most common comments I’ve heard from residents during my time here is that ‘it feels like being on holiday every day’ as it’s such a relaxed environment close to the water.

“During the last 12 years we’ve had constant demand across the board, from first-time buyers to those downsizing, as well as some townhouses that have appealed to families. It’s been fantastic to help so many people find their dream home here.”

Diglis Water has won several National House-Building Council (NHBC) Seal of Excellence awards over the years, in recognition of the site team’s dedication to producing high-quality new homes and maintaining exceptional building standards, while in 2013 the development was shortlisted in the ‘Best design for three storeys or fewer’ category at the National Housebuilder Awards.

“With a well-built, brand new home people who’ve moved here enjoy the low maintenance lifestyles on offer,” adds Jackie. “Their free time is their own and they feel like they’ve got their lives back. Riverside Park has a new children’s play area and has won a conservation award, while the on-site gym is very popular and the local pubs have enjoyed a new lease of life with all the activity.

“There’s also the cricket club nearby as well as the racecourse and the theatre, while with Worcester within walking distance some residents have been able to give up a car and benefit from that saving.”

The mixed-use development has also attracted a lot of commercial businesses to the site, including PCA Predict (formerly Postcode Anywhere), while property investors have also been keen to tap into the area’s up-and-coming reputation.

“The fabulous apartments at Diglis Water have been very attractive to investors,” continues Jackie. “Some people have even bought a place for themselves, seen the opportunities here and then purchased another one to rent out.

“With it being such a desirable location, we don’t expect the remaining 9 properties to be available for long so potential purchasers should contact us without delay or they will face missing out altogether!”

Diglis Water lies just a short distance from junction 7 of the M5 for quick links to the M4, M6 and M45, while less than 1.5 miles away are Worcester’s two railway stations for services to Birmingham, London, Oxford and Bristol.

To stand a chance of securing one of the final plots at Diglis Water, property-seekers can visit the Sales Centre, located off Basin Road, Worcester, WR5 3BS, and open Thursday to Monday from 11am to 5pm. Alternatively, visit taylorwimpey.co.uk.
