Taylor Wimpey receives approval for new development in Pershore
Leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey has moved closer to unveiling a stunning collection of brand new homes in Pershore, Worcestershire, following the approval of its planning application.
The purchase of land off Wyre Road has been confirmed, and planning permission has been granted by Wychavon District Council for a new residential development of 64 new homes with 40% allocated as affordable housing, as well as areas of public open space.
The new development, to be called Mirabelle Gardens, will comprise a range of high-quality one, two, three, and four-bedroom homes located within a mile of the market town of Pershore and just 10 miles from Worcester city centre.
As well as providing a fantastic range of new homes, Taylor Wimpey will also be making substantial contributions to the local community, including:
£170,969 towards local education
£137,225 towards local sports facilities
£37,130 for local highways improvements
£2,400 contribution to pedestrian cycling
£2,185 towards recycling costs.
Construction of the new homes is expected to start in January, with the first plots due to be released for sale in March 2017.
Anne Wallace, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “We’re thrilled to have received approval for our plans from the local authority.
“Mirabelle Park will provide a wide selection of much-needed new homes at this great location in Pershore. Interested property-seekers should register their details with us today to ensure they are among the first in line to receive the latest information as soon as it becomes available.
“As a local housebuilder, we feel it’s important to contribute to the communities in which we build our new homes, so we’re delighted to be making significant contributions to education and sports provision, and help improve local facilities and boost employment opportunities.”
Situated on the banks of the River Avon, Pershore is a picturesque market town famed for its elegant Georgian architecture and beautiful countryside. Boasting a range of amenities, there’s an abundance of independent shops alongside a choice of supermarkets, while a selection of pubs and restaurants are within walking distance of the new development.
Pershore is home to a great selection of sports and leisure clubs, from skittles and darts to hockey, cricket and squash, while the thriving Number 8 Community Arts Centre injects culture into the town with its 250-seat theatre and art gallery.
There’s a selection of schools within walking distance of Mirabelle Park, including Abbey Park Middle School and Pershore High School, both of which have been rated ‘good’ by Ofsted.
Pershore railway station is less than two miles from the development and offers direct services to London Paddington and Birmingham New Street. Road links are also good with Junction 7 of the M5 motorway only seven miles away providing links to Birmingham and Cheltenham, while the A44 puts Evesham within easy reach.
