Homebuyers who put their heart and ‘sole’ into finding the perfect property will find Redrow’s Wellington style offers the perfect fit.

The four-bedroom townhouse has space and flexibility for the whole family, with areas to gather together – and rooms in which to escape for privacy and peace.

And there are currently four Wellington homes to choose from at Redrow’s lovely Lancaster Mews development in the Clifton area of York, from mid to end-terrace and one semi-detached, with prices starting at £269,950.

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), says: “Lancaster Mews features a range of homes from our distinctive Regent Collection, with full-of-character period frontages reminiscent of the Georgian period.

“The homes are both grand and elegant but - like the neighbouring Granary development, which features properties from Redrow’s Arts & Crafts inspired Heritage Collection - they offer state of the art contemporary interiors which make living easy and enjoyable.”

Lancaster Mews, off Water Lane, boasts a collection of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, all designed with today’s families in mind.

“And one of the gems in the Regent crown is the Wellington home,” adds Patsy. “It’s a stunning four-bedroom townhouse, with a carefully considered layout and design that elevates it way above its rivals, and that all important third floor which sets it apart from so many other four-bedroom properties.”

Stepping through the portico entrance buyers will find a spacious kitchen diner at the heart of this impressive home, with a generous lounge beyond which opens out to the garden.

Moving up to the first floor, there are two double bedrooms and one single, together with a family bathroom. A short ascent to the top floor reveals the piece de resistance of this property; a magnificent master bedroom and en-suite shower room fill what would normally be redundant roof space and provide a welcoming and much-needed sanctuary at the end of the day.

But the Wellington isn’t just beautiful. Such a design allows for greater flexibility for family living – that top floor could easily be used as a guest suite, teenage hideaway, home office or playroom for the kids – and real value for money, going up instead of out and, thus, reducing cost.

And, creating even better value for money, is the Help to Buy scheme through which the Wellington could be bought. Typically, customers using Help to Buy should only need a 5% deposit and a 75% mortgage. The remaining 20% is covered by an equity loan from the Government, which, crucially, is interest free for the first five years.

On a property valued at £269,950, that means a deposit of £13,497.50 and a mortgage of £202,462.50, with the remaining £53,990 covered by the equity loan, thus reducing the initial cost in those important early years.

Set just to the north of York, Lancaster Mews has every desirable amenity close to hand, without all the hustle and bustle of living in the city centre itself. Buyers will also find a great selection of schools nearby.
