Citroen Relay - What Van? Minibus of the Year 2005

What Van? magazine says, "With prices starting at £12,995 + VAT and delivery, the customer just can't lose. Nor are we talking about a low-grade conversion that's been chucked together. Executed by Advanced Vehicle Builders, one of the largest and best-known minibus converters in the UK, the Relay minibus has been certified to M1 passenger car safety standards… and it's interesting to note that Citroen was one of the first manufacturers to stipulate the M1 standard right the way across its minibus range."
Earlier this year Citroen's Relay M1 tested minibuses (which have seats, seat belts and mountings capable of withstanding a 20g deceleration from 30mph, twice what is needed for M2, the minimum legal minibus standard) was upgraded to Enterprise specification level.
This added, at no extra cost, an RDS stereo radio/CD player, a driver's airbag and anti-lock brakes. Other standard Relay minibus equipment includes remote central locking, heated and electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, electric front windows and an engine immobiliser. A competitively priced, wheelchair accessible Relay minibus, the Xcessible is also available.
Robert Handyside, Citroen’s commercial vehicle operations manager, remarks, "In winning this prestigious award, Citroen is pleased to see that the Relay minibus, part of its innovative Ready to Run programme, impressed What Van? magazine with its M1 safety standards, high levels of standard equipment, quality and competitive pricing. The comprehensive choice of Relay minibuses includes 9 to 17 seat models, making it ideal for a wide variety of applications."
