Alltec Network cleans up with Citroen Relays

ALLTEC Network made the decision to standardise on the new Relay 35 L3H2 120 after extensive tests proved that it was the only van to meet all of the company’s stringent cost, payload, load volume, accessibility, comfort and safety requirements. The new Relays, which will be supplied by Citroen City, London E1, will be used as the standard van for ALLTEC Network’s new ThermalWave II Vortec and ThermalWave II Vortec HP Truck Mount Cleaning systems, which are built for professional contractors providing domestic and industrial floor cleaning services.
Robert Saunders, ALLTEC Network’s managing director and owner, who has run the Royston-based company for 14 years, comments, “We are pleased to announce the new Relay as our preferred choice of van. We looked at a large number of new-generation, Euro IV vans and the Relay had the financial, payload and accessibility advantage in every case. In addition to its very high levels of safety, comfort and convenience, the Relay was unique in its standard fitment of Trafficmaster sat nav and RAC Trackstar stolen vehicle tracking systems. This equipment will provide our customers with significant additional efficiency and cost savings as well as peace-of-mind security benefits.”
Prior to fitting its ThermalWave II Vortec and ThermalWave II Vortec HP carpet cleaning machines, ALLTEC Network protects the Relay 35 L3H2 120 van’s 13cu.m load compartment with plywood and then over sprays this with a tough, multi-layer chemical and water resistant All-Dry lining. The 445kg cleaning unit is then installed – in full working order, complete with cleaning solutions, water and other equipment, the total weight of the machine is just over 1400kg.
At the heart of the ThermalWave II Vortec or ThermalWave II Vortec HP unit is a 1600cc, 61hp petrol or LPG fuelled engine. This is coupled to a Gardner Denver blower unit, which provides the high pressure air supply to drive a Gardner Denver pump. The pump provides up to 204 bar (3000psi) pressure for power washing carpets or hard floors and also the massive vacuum for the necessary suction to remove dirt and cleaning solution. With a ThermalWave II Vortec or ThermalWave II Vortec HP unit operatives can clean floor surfaces up to 250m away from the Relay van.
Robert Handyside, Citroen’s commercial vehicle operations manager, says, “The premium specification Citroen Relay sets the standard in the 3.0 – 4.05 tonne gvw sector. Advanced technology, intelligent design, premium quality engineering and a wide range of innovative, industry-first features ensure that the Relay delivers a unique range of real-world operational, financial, safety, comfort and security benefits.”
