Citroen Berlingo order reduces Integra’s carbon footprint Integra Utility Services has just taken delivery of 62 Citroen Berlingo Enterprise vans – its third major order for this popular model since 2002. By specifying the latest Euro 4 1.6HDi 75hp powered Berlingo vans to replace all of its small van fleet, the company can considerably reduce the “carbon footprint” of this part of its operations.

Midlands-based Integra Utility Services, part of Severn Trent Metering Services, has a company policy of reducing CO2 emissions and becoming increasingly energy efficient. The acquisition of the latest version of the Berlingo will considerably reduce CO2 emissions and the amount of diesel fuel used by its small van fleet.

Dave Knowles, Integra Utility Services’ fleet manager, explains, “The latest Euro 4 1.6HDi Berlingo showed that it could meet our carbon-footprint reduction criteria with a 26 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions over the previous model, whilst also providing a major improvement in fuel consumption figures. We are pleased to specify Berlingos for the third time as they have served the company well over the last five years, combine excellent reliability with low cost of operation and are popular with our technicians.”

The 62 Berlingo vans have been supplied by Citroen dealer Murley Citroen, Leamington Spa, and are being operated on 30 month Pendragon with maintenance, contract hire agreements. During their service life with Integra Utility Services the vans will cover up to 62,500 miles. The vans are allocated to Integra Utility Services’ technicians engaged in the installation of domestic and commercial water meters within the Midlands and surrounding areas.

To suit this work the Berlingos are ply lined, have a full bulkhead and are fitted with a slide out racking system and roof-mounted beacons. For enhanced safety the new vans are externally distinguished from its previous Berlingo 1.9D vans by large, high-visibility red and yellow reflective panels on the rear doors.
